Welcome to the
Shelby County Humane Society
Our mission is to rescue and rehabilitate the abused, neglected and abandoned pets of Shelby County and to provide them the support and care they need until we can find them loving forever homes.

Currently our furry friends all live at the home of the Shelby County Humane Society President, Mike Lescowitch. Although Mike provides our furry friends with a loving and safe haven while they are waiting on their loving forever home this does limit the number of furry friends we can help at any one time. We are however working on building for the future.
Our plan is to raise the needed funds to purchase a piece of land in or around Sidney where we can build a suitable facility for our deserving furry friends to stay at that will keep them comfortable & safe while they are awaiting adoption. This new facility will allow us to help more of our furry friends. The new facility will also provide more opportunities for volunteers to help and will provide a more comfortable environment for prospective adopters to come meet their next furry friend.
If you would like to help make this vision a reality, please consider donating funds or land to the Shelby County Humane Society.
